Course Description
This course will discuss the most common medical emergencies in the dental office as well as the associated signs and symptoms. The course will also review treatment to assist with the medical emergency as well as case studies to test your knowledge.
Target Audience: General Dentists, Dental Students, Recent Graduates, Orthodontists, Pediatric Dentists, GPR Residents
Course Objectives
1) Identify the most common medical emergencies encountered in the dental office.
2) Recognize the signs & symptoms associated with the most common medical emergencies.
3) Describe treatment modalities and medications needed to intervene in emergencies encountered in the dental office.
4) Complete case studies summarizing the response to in-office medical emergencies.

Requirements: Access to a computer that can play sound, is required for participation the Nevada AGD live webinar. No special computer knowledge or equipment is required to participate; however, the webinar utilizes the Zoom platform. Specific instructions will be disseminated upon registration to assist with course access.
Cancellation Policy:
Directions: Watch the entire presentation as CE is awarded based on allotted time required to complete the course. Following the presentation, please fill out the posttest. Save the posttest as "YOURLASTNAME, MEDEMG” and email the post-test to the Nevada Academy of General Dentistry.
For self-study credit to be obtained, a minimum passing score of 80% is required or answering 8 of the 10 questions correctly. One additional retest is permitted at no additional charge; however, any additional retests will require a $25 administrative fee.
You have 30 days to complete this course (once it has been sent to you*) and return the posttest (below) to the Nevada Academy of General Dentistry for credit, otherwise a new course fee will be required. To receive certificate prior to the June 30, 2025 NV licensure renewal deadline, all post-tests MUST be submitted on or before 6/23/25 at 5 pm PST. *Registration after June 1, 2025 requires completion of course by 6/23/25 and the 30-day window to complete the course is not applicable.
